End of September Update

I realized tonight as I was working on Mary Lindsey's scrapbook that those of you who look at these blog pages daily do not know some of the little details about Mary Lindsey and her development. So I thought I would humor you and share some "tid bits" of information with you. I know I am her mommy, so I think all of this is just amazing stuff...maybe you will to. If not, I have added some really cute pictures from today.

Mary Lindsey sits up very well at this point. In fact, she would much rather be sitting up than laying down. The minute you lay her down, if she is not sleepy, she is doing all she can to lift her head. Though she is not crawling yet, she has got rolling over mastered. She can roll from her back to stomach, or stomach to back. She can "worm" from one location to the other, which basically means she does not crawl, but she shifts her body weight to make it short distances. She has wonderful control of her hands. She can pick up objects like remote controls and telephones (her two favorites) and take them straight to her mouth! Everything goes to her mouth now. She is facinated with people's faces...she wants to grab noses and lips and eyes.

To the delight of Larry she does say "da da", but I will admit to you that EVERYTHING is
"da da", so sorry honey, but she is not referring to you! I am still determined that "Ma Ma" is going to be her first true word! We shall see!

She is a truly happy baby! She smiles more than any child I have ever been around.

So those are just some little bits of information for this proud mommy to look back on in year's to come and remember what these days were like. I know that before I know it she will be all grown up and she will read these pages and roll her eyes at me...and that is okay. I am sure I will do many more things to cause her to roll her eyes at me through out her life time!
I posted 3 pictures for your viewing pleasure tonight. The first two from this morning I thought were sweet of my little angel. The last one I took of her this afternoon while I was folding laundry on our bed. I had sat her down on the bed to play with some of her toys and she knocked each one of our bed pillows over and thought it was so funny when they would fall over. I took this picture of her laughing about what she had done. You have to admit...that is pretty amazing for a 6 month old!

Who Says Laundry Isn't Fun?

Mary Lindsey and I learned a fun game at Kindermusik this week. We learned that just your average laundry basket can be used for much more than just transporting laundry...you can transport Mary Lindsey! Our Kindermusik teacher put each of the babies in a laundry basket on Tuesday and pulled them around the room. You would have thought they were at Disney World! So I implemented this into our morning routine today, and we both had a lot of fun! Mary Lindsey giggles and smiles when you pull her around. She knows to hang on and even braces herself around curves. It is so cute! I tried to capture the moment with pictures. I think the funniest one is after she has fallen over in the basket. She is looking at me like, "Gosh mom, you are a horrible driver." What a funny little girl!

Little Eagle!

Well, we attempted to take Mary Lindsey to her first USM football game today, but the weather just didn't want to cooperate! We made it as far as the student union, and then tried to wait for the rain to stop but it set in for the afternoon. But we did get to see a few friends before the game and Mary Lindsey looked precious in her new little USM dress that Nana had made for her. We took a few pictures and then headed back home. But, thanks for lunch BoBo...that was a lot of fun! We will hopefully give it another try before the season is over. Mary Lindsey loves the crowd and I know she would have loved watching the game. Larry and I commented on the way home what an agreeable baby she is. She never once cried all day long even though we were hauling her around in the rain, and then managed to sleep all the way home. She woke up with a big smile on her face and is in the den playing with her Daddy right now. Thank you Lord for such a precious little girl! I hope everyone is having a good a weekend as we are!

Our Big Girl High Chair!

My little girl is growing up too fast! Today was Mary Lindsey's first time to sit in a big girl high chair. She loved it! She has been sitting up by herself for about the last month, but she is just now to the point that she does it with no problem at all and can support herself for a fairly large length of time. So I put her in the high chair for lunch today. The menu was sweet potatoes and green beans...yum! These are actually her two favorite veggies in case you are interested in a little Mary Lindsey trivia!

I LOVE these pictures! She started using her food as finger paint after a while. And then it turned into splatter paint. She made the biggest mess and I think got more on the floor and me and her high chair than in her mouth...but, I will be concerned with table manners later. We had too much fun and both laughed the whole time. After lunch she had a quick bath in the sink and is now down for a nap. She wore herself out!

Happy Birthday BoBo!

We would like to wish Mary Lindsey's BoBo a very Happy Birthday! She got to spend some quality time with him playing this afternoon, and as always they had a blast! Mary Lindsey also played the piano for the first time this afternoon, and if I do say so myself, I think she has some natural musical ability. I sure do hope so! She really loved banging on the keys and hearing the sound that it made. Here are some pictures from our day.

Outing to Quail Hollow

Today Larry took a much needed day off. Mary Lindsey and I were invited to go golfing with him late this afternoon and we took him up on the offer. It was nice because fall seems to be in the air here...at least for a few days! So we all 3 had fun enjoying the outdoors together and the cooler weather. These are several really cute pictures I took of Bit Bit enjoying the golf course with her Daddy. Larry would absolutely love for her to at least somewhat enjoy playing golf with him one of these days...I have zero golf talent but have always enjoyed driving the cart for him! Of course, he would also love for her to fish and hunt with him as well. We shall see! One thing is for sure...she loves the outdoors!

Saturday Night Bath Time

We had our big Saturday night bath tonight so we are all clean for church tomorrow. Mary Lindsey really likes her bath time now and is a lot of fun to play with after her bath. That is, after you get her dried off and her diaper on. She is not a big fan of being dried off. I think it is because she is cold. Anyway, tonight I took these cute pictures of her in her pink towel and pink robe. I thought you might enjoy seeing them. I love the one of her in her robe. She does have on a diaper, but you can't tell because of her belly hanging over the diaper and her leg rolls. How precious is our hilarious Mary Lindsey. She was laughing and making squealing noises the whole time I was taking these pictures. She is a hoot now! Good night everyone. We love you all!

Girls and Dolls!

These are some pictures I took this morning of Mary Lindsey and her doll. This is a doll that her GiGi bought her when we found out we were having a little girl, and it has been sitting in Mary Lindsey's closet waiting to be played with. It seems Mary Lindsey really likes her. You can see by one picture that she slobbered terribly on the doll, then later proceeded to attempt to take off the dolls eye lashes. One of my favorite pictures looks like Mary Lindsey is telling the doll, "Look, I like you but I REALLY like my Daddy's remote control. Sorry!" We had a lot of fun and I thought you might enjoy some of these pictures to make you all feel a part of this big event.

Super Tuesdays!

Tuesdays are always a busy day for Mary Lindsey and me now. We head over the Hattiesburg early in the morning for our Kindermusik class and then fit in as many visits with family as possible while we are there. Everyone wants their chance to love on Bit Bit and she absolutely loves it. I am posting some pictures of our class as well as MeMaw, Aunt Shell, Cousin Haley, and Nana. We had a wonderful day and will both sleep soundly tonight. Hugs and kisses!

Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory!

This is what we found when we went in to get Mary Lindsey out of bed yesterday morning! What a precious little person to wake up to! We love yall!

Happy Birthday Nana!

Today we celebrated Nana Paulette's Birthday! Nana and BoBo came over from Hattiesburg to join us for church and lunch. We had such a fun morning with them. Mary Lindsey even got to eat some more birthday cake icing. She then of course wanted to put her whole hand in the cake, but mommy is a party pooper!

Happy Birthday Nana! We love you!

Polka Dot Pajamas

Here are a few really cute pictures from earlier this evening. We fed Bit Bit some sweet potatoes and then immediately gave her a nice bath. She was in the best mood after that, so I decided to capture the moment. Her Aunt Holli picked these pajamas out for her while we were in South Carolina. Thanks Holli and GiGi! We love them! I wish you all could have heard her laugh tonight. It was too sweet! Kisses and Hugs! Good night!

Long Time no Blog!

Sorry...I know it has been a while since I last blogged. Mary Lindsey and I decided to use Gustav as an excuse to have a little family time this week with my family in South Carolina. She and I and her two Great Grandmothers weathered all the traffic and went to Spartanburg for a few days. Needless to say, it was a long trip, but we had a wonderful time with GiGi and Pops and Aunt Holli. Mary Lindsey also got to spent some quality time with her two Great Grandmothers so it was all worth it! Thankfully, our home and Larry weathered Gustav without any major damage and we are getting back to normal!

My camera is acting sort of funny right now, so I am having trouble transferring pictures from it's memory to the computer, so here are some pretty recent pictures of Mary Lindsey with her GiGi, Pops, Holli, MeMaw, and Granny. I will post pictures from our actual trip when I get them.

Today, Mary Lindsey went to her first birthday party for her friend Brewer. She absolutely loved it! Larry put her in one of the big inflatable jumpers and bounced her up and down in his arms. She laughed out loud and thought it was so much fun! Larry also gave her her very first bite of birthday cake icing. She really liked that. Again, once I can get my camera to work, I will post these pictures. Love all of you!
